Boasting over 40 employees and hundreds of 5-star reviews on Facebook and Google, this matches Nelson’s love for other people’s jobs and customer satisfaction.

How did you start as an entrepreneur?

“Honestly, it was by accident,” says Nelson, noting that he started his career as a freelance web designer and the business sort of grew out of a series of “logical next steps”.

By the age of 13 he was making 3D models of fighter jets and by 14 he had hosted a website where he posted photos and reviews of the role-playing video games he loved.

Many years later, after earning a degree in economics, he planned to start a real estate brokerage firm with his father, who quickly determined that Nelson was not emotionally mature enough to co-start a family business for him. instant.

Before making that decision, Nelson’s father tasked him with creating a website for the brokerage house – which won an award that Nelson would end up using to secure his first clients as he set out on the path. of digital entrepreneurship.

How was AgentFire.com born?

In the early years, Quest says, he was building websites for as little as $ 100 a piece. Over time, his design skills improved, as did the speed of his development work, and his prices shot up in the thousands. He hired a few people to help with specific processes and developed a salable package for clients; thus, AgentFire.com was born.

He notes that he was one of the first people in the real estate space to talk about “hyperlocal” and how important it was for agents to focus their efforts on niche markets like luxury condos in. seaside, military relocation, etc.

“I worked with a team of developers to create our hyperlocal zone content system,” he says. “This allowed real estate agents to create pages for specific neighborhoods or cities within a specific market. These pages would contain information like property listings with demographics, school data, you can personalize them with photos and videos.

Nelson also attributes the incredible growth of AgentFire over the past few years to its unique ‘platform’ approach, where users start with the website and then scale at their own pace with powerful add-ons and shortlisted experts for it. CRM, PPC and Marketing.

The AgentFire sales team also receives advanced training in lead capture and marketing methods, SEO, and more broadly “how agents can be successful using their websites.” As Nelson explains, agents at any point in their careers can explain their specific goals to the team and name the market they wish to target; in return, the team recommends the exact package the agent needs to be successful in digital.

The road ahead

“I reached a point where I realized I could do whatever I wanted,” he says. “So I started a YouTube channel and made some videos that I wish I had seen when I was younger.”

So far the videos are in Spanish, most with English subtitles for greater reach. In December 2021, Nelson says he aims to launch an English language, where he says he already has around 20 videos queued up and will spend heavily on YouTube ads to jump to hundreds of thousands. ‘subscribers. .

Along with his YouTube channel and business, Nelson says he is also currently working towards his goal of climbing the highest mountain on each continent. That makes nine mountains in total; he’s already climbed three. He is also training for his first boxing match before the end of the year, in preparation for a possible national title in his long-time home country of Colombia.
